As we look ahead this month to PRINTING United Expo, we’d like to congratulate everyone for making the Expo the premier printing event in North America. Since 2019, the Expo has moved from 98th position on Trade Show Executive’s “Gold 100” list, all the way to #32 in 2022, while also winning the “Best Exhibitor ROI in 2022” award. This meteoric rise is a testament to great strategy, flawless execution, and a ton of hard work from the best team in the business. The Expo is a major lead generation tool and economic driver for close to 800 companies and, while it’s great to be recognized for our efforts, it should also feel great to be helping our supplier members generate business and our printer members find solutions to increase efficiency and identify new revenue opportunities. It is truly a “win-win.”
We are convinced that the intangibles we bring to the Expo and every event and product that we produce is what separates us from the pack. We’ve set an extremely high bar and we’re looking forward to exceeding expectations once again in Atlanta. So, let’s go into Atlanta and BE GREAT. Be great for our exhibitors, great for our attendees, great for our members, and great for each other.

Government Affairs The Government Affairs team recently reached a milestone when it met with more than 40 members of Congress, or their staff, to advocate for balanced federal regulations. The Manufacturers for Sensible Regulations coalition organized the meetings, and the Alliance effectively delivered the message that overly burdensome regulations harm small businesses.

Human Resources As we begin the 4th quarter, it is time for our yearly training initiative dealing with key topics including Diversity and Anti-Harassment in the workplace. We aim to keep up to date on these important subjects to help us recall upon the information each day. Our Core Values touch on some of the things we will learn about in the training courses, such as how to work together, own your actions, always use your brain, do the right thing, be the best version of yourself, and embrace differences. The Alliance’s Core Values are meant to be implemented and intertwined in everything we do as individuals and as an organization.
Please be on the lookout for information from Kylie and ExtensisHR regarding the courses that will be assigned (Workplace Harassment & Valuing Diversity), and when they will be due. Each course will take around 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete. These courses will be mandatory.
A reminder of Alliance Core Values:
- Be a Good Teammate
- Be Accountable
- Choose Integrity
- Think
- Demonstrate Excellence
- Be Inclusive

Office of Corporate Communications Lots of news coming out of the Alliance! Last month, the Alliance celebrated the formation of the inaugural Printing Caucus. This newly formed Caucus will provide a forum for members, their staffs, and the public to discuss the unique impacts that federal policies have on the U.S. printing industry. We will be sharing more details about its function and how it came about with staff in the coming weeks. The press release with more detail on the Caucus can be found here.
The 2024 printed Membership Guide will be available for pick up at the Expo this year in the Membership Booth. This all-encompassing publication highlights the breadth and depth of Alliance staff, programs, services, events, publications, and more. A digital version will be shared with staff as well.
Alliance Membership Profiles continue to be highlighted as a way to forge closer relationships with our members and as a member benefit to help amplify their stories and how they serve the industry at large. The Profile Showcase can be located here on printing.org. Live member interviews will be taking place at the Expo throughout the show, so stop by the booth and meet some of our valued members!

 | | Carly O’Neill has started her seasonal hobby: acting at Pennhurst Asylum, a haunted attraction located in Spring City, where she plays a patient in the asylum. Prior to Pennhurst opening its doors this year, Carly attended trainings to improve her movement (learning how to move creepily but also safely around customers) and her vocals (to prevent losing her voice early on in the night) when placed in different scenes throughout the three main attractions. This will be Carly’s 4th year acting at Pennhurst. The attraction will be open through November 4th — make sure to be on the lookout for Carly if you plan on visiting!
