EXECUTIVE CORNER

Many of us have recently returned from another exciting Expo week. Even with the headwinds of competing shows (two occurring the same week!), it was very well-received by both exhibitors and attendees. Registration was down from last year a bit, and the layout was challenging due to being in a different set of halls than we typically are, but there is no doubt that the Expo was a tremendous success and continues to cement the Alliance’s position, not only the Expo space, but as the foremost association in print.

There are too many aspects that go into an Expo to succinctly point out all the wins. Special shout-outs for a near seamless move-in experience for exhibitors, momentum for the Women in Print events, membership wins with two franchise chains signing up for an additional 5 years and a third in the works, and fantastic media coverage kicked off with the first Media Day event which was greatly appreciated by our many partners who attended.

As we settle into the final quarter, we look forward to a strong finish to the year. The budgeting process has begun. More events are on the way. But, before all that, please take a moment to reflect on the past year’s tremendous efforts to pull off another successful Expo. Many thanks to all involved!

Benefits Season

The seasons are changing! As we welcome fall and enter Q4, this is a friendly reminder from your HR team to make any necessary changes to your benefits and/or personal information via the ExtensisHR HRCloud. The goal is to head into the last few months of the year with a clean slate to help finish it out strong. This includes your benefits/benefit enrollment, 401k contribution (through Fidelity), address, personal and work phone number and email, organizing important documents and emails, completing trainings, and more.

If you have any benefits-related questions, questions surrounding miscellaneous tasks and information or announcements, or would like to discuss anything personal, please do not hesitate to reach out to our HR team at hrteam@printing.org, or contact Jeanne, Jen, or Kylie directly.

 Membership

Membership a VIBE at the Expo

Membership continues to be a VIBE at the Expo! Over 500 new members joined during registration to gain access to show floor and educational content, with many joining during the show and visiting the booth to explore the many benefits that are to be had that were on display.

During the show we had the opportunity to meet with both of our Franchisor partnerships and are excited that both Franchise Services Inc. (Sir Speedy, PIP) and AlphaGraphics have committed to renew the partnership for 5 years! This represents 400+ memberships between both organizations. In addition, we received a commitment from SpeedPro to join and provide membership to each of it’s 130+ franchise locations and look forward to welcoming them to the Alliance family.

The team working the booth was awesome, recruiting 22 new members on-site, 6 renewals, capturing 170+ quality leads from membership conversations and iLEARNING+ demonstrations. It truly takes a village to grow our membership numbers and we would like to thank all those who worked to promote the booth and membership before and during the Expo!

Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Grand Award Winner: PRINTING United Expo

Trade Show Executive (TSE) revealed the winners of the 2024 Gold 100 Grand Awards at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in September, marking the 15th anniversary of the event and recognizing the trade shows that were the largest and most ahead of the curve in innovative approaches in 2023. In making our case for the award, PRINTING United Expo 2023 was named the “Show with the Most Commendable Green Initiatives in 2023” due to our partnership with Domtar in planting two trees for every registration for the 2023 event, as well as our recycling partnership with Vycom, and partnership with Shepard Exposition Services, a Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP) certified event production company. The show also ranked this year as #32 in the country. Expo Marketing Director Nicole Cho was also named a TSE “Woman to Watch!”
